Statement of Acceptance

I have been involved with the Internet for almost 8 years and plan
to continue my involvement. The Internet Society has the
opportunity to be a dynamic force in the Internet world. It needs
to provide substance for the professional development of its
membership. It must find out what the membership needs and find
appropriate mechanisms to meet those needs. The first year of the
Internet Society has been, on the whole, uneventful. I would like
to help the Internet Society reach a well-respected status in the
community and from peer communities. I believe that the only way
of accomplishing this is to make the Society much more visible,
through a limited number of dynamic projects. The Society is
needed, but it must show some momentum soon.
