Message-ID: <396EA34C.1B189B8F@home.com> From: Richard Newsgroups: alt.uu.comp.os.linux.questions Subject: cable and linux gateway Date: Fri, 14 Jul 2000 05:14:04 GMT Organization: @Home Network ok i just got cable from cox@home and i have an older small pc that i want to run linux on for learning and testing and to also eventually get rid of windblowz.  What i want to do is first set it up was a gateway for my regular pc until i can figure out enough of the ins and outs to actually replace the OS on my main pc and putting it on the cable network running Linux.  I want to know if anyone has had problems with the cox@home and setting it up with linux.  I have some experience with linux up at my work and i have successfully put it on the network and everyday i work with it more and more.  But i have yet to have to use a proxy and i know the @home does.  Any key pointers would be helpful so that i can knock some of this stuff out before im in too deep.  Thank you
