It will keep track of a wide range of information about your investment world. For each investment, you can see the tax-basis in your investment using either the average-cost or first-in-first-out method, the capital gains you've taken, the potential capital gain left in the investment, the distributions, out-of-pocket investment, and, of course, the total profit to date. You can see the performance of the underlying security, and of your management of that security using measures of profit such as the internal rate of return which weigh the time-value of money. You can generate annualized reports like those required by the IRS for capital gains and distributions reporting. Asset Basset also allows you to define portfolios composed of your investments, and to track portfolio performance. The portfolios may be defined by any combination of the following investment criteria: location (foreign or domestic), style (value or growth), size (large-cap, mid-cap, etc.), type (stock, bond, etc.), and risk-level, as well as by your own keywords. Most notably, you can allocate percentage amounts of a category within an investment. For example, if you own a balanced fund that invests 40% in bonds and 60% in equity, you can indicate that allocation in the account record. If you then choose to track the performance of your bond investments, Asset Basset will know to attribute only 40% of the value of the balanced fund to your bond "portfolio." By enabling percentage allocations within an investment, Asset Basset lets you monitor the allocation and performance of your investments with a precision limited only by your knowledge of your own investments. It uses the Mac OS 8 windows, with System 7 colors. It adds the functionality of the Windowshade widget. It adds accent colors, which change the menu highlight colors, scroll thumbs and progress bar colors (use the "Silver" accent color for true System 7 compatibility). I use a Mac OS 8 style scroll bar track, because I can't stand the checkered System 7 style. This scheme includes replacement Finder icons, which are a Mac OS 8-ized version of the standard System 7 style folders. There is also a color swatcher which allows you to click on a color on your screen to see what it's made of (eg. for Web page matching use the html format!). One really cool feature is the ability to create a series of sequential calculations in the log and then "play" them back in the form of a test. Friendly comments are made about accuracy & a score is given as feedback. We've found our children learned various times tables really rapidly when using this, since they refused to get even 1 answer wrong. It supports drag & drop and many recent Apple Macintosh features. There are some simple times tables sample files and a full on-line help available under the Apple & Help menus. If you register & pay the US$30 shareware fee then there won't be any time limit & you'll not see an annoying message when you start up & flashing red icon during use. The author is easily contactable and keen to update & improve KoCal! Check it out! It is compatible with system 7 and above, and works on all Macs above the Mac+ and SE, including the AV & Power Macs. ABOUT MEDIAPRESENTER MediaPresenter is designed to make the presentation of graphic images, QuickTime=81 movies, and short text messages quick and easy. During a presentation visual annotation tools and image navigation tools are available. Media files used in a presentation are only stored as references to the actual files on your hard drive or CD-ROM. When an image is displayed it is automatically retrieved from disk. This makes MediaPresenter particularly suitable for re-purposing Multimedia or World Wide Web content, and for presenting a subset of a large image collection. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS MediaPresenter requires a Macintosh with a 68030 processor or greater, including PowerPC, and requires System Software version 7.0 or later. MediaPresenter requires 6 megabytes of free memory. Depending on the media to be displayed with MediaPresenter, however, you may need to allocate more memory to MediaPresenter using the Get Info dialog box in the finder. At least 2 MB of free hard disk space should be available. QuickTime 2.5 system software extension is recommended. QuickTime 2.0+ system software extension required. Paul D. Program description: YP Slider Crank simulates the motion of a piston activated by a slider crank mechanism. The crank is in uniform rotational motion (constant angular velocity), causing the piston to move with a variable acceleration. Relative lengths of the crank arm and the connecting rod may be changed easily. During the simulation, it is possible to display the following vectors: acceleration, velocity and position, and the following graphs: acceleration, velocity and position versus time. Required Hardware and Software: YP Slider Crank runs on any Macintosh computer with MAC OS 7.0 or later. It needs about 250 Kb on your hard disk and 500 Kb of RAM. The software runs on older models with 68000 processors (Mac Plus, Mac Classic), but simulations are slower. This is a change from the way menus worked in previous versions of the system software, where the menus would always go away after the user let go of the mouse button. If you think this is a crummy bit of interface design, and wish Apple had allowed the user to adjust the "stickiness" of the menus, you're not alone. Teflon is a simple little control panel that does just that. * Hate sticky menus? Teflon lets you disable them completely, so that menus behave the way they did under System 7 and earlier. * Prefer Windows-style "menus stick forever" behavior? Teflon will do that, too. Menus will stick no matter how long you hold down the mouse button. * If you like the MacOS 8 method, but find that menus stick when you didn't want them to (or vice versa), Teflon will let you adjust the stickiness threshold to your liking. Teflon requires MacOS 8 or better to operate -- it will load without problems under System 7.x but it won't do anything useful.
