! README_IID !

If your printer is an HP Laserjet IID, you can make use of its extended features
by extended options and additional specials.

The -f option is more general, any value > 0 is valid and determines, how many
fonts are downloaded into the printers memory, assuming the memory size
will allow this. Default is 64.

The -m option knows an optional argument, which controls the paper source:
       -m[=arg] , arg=1 ... 4 and 6
-m=1 Feed paper from the upper tray
-m=2 Feed paper from manual input
-m=3 Feed envelope from manual input
-m=4 Feed paper from the lower tray
-m=6 Feed envelope from envelope feeder

The -t option knows an optional argument, which controls the binding edge for
for two sided printing.
-t=0 No effect, single sided (simplex) printing
-t=1 Two sided (duplex) printing for long edge binding
-t=2 Two sided (duplex) printing for short edge binding

All other options, described in README, exist and operate in the described man-
ner, except with the internal difference for -l (landscape), which rotates the
characters by the printers processor instead by the driver software.

Furthermore the -DIID compiler directive activate three more TeX \special com-
in `dvihp':

letter switches the printer for feeding from the lower tray, assuming this
tray is filled with firm-owned letter paper.

envelope switches the printer for feeding from the envelope tray, printing
	     the following text on envelopes.

endenvelope finish envelope printing and switches back to firm-owned paper
             feeding.

All of these extended options have no effect, if your printer is not furnished
with the corresponding features.
