BTI or VST may make batteries; I'm not sure.
Those little 2 1/2" SCSI hard drives may no longer be available. The Apple
service part was around $1000 CDN last time I checked. I don't remember the
drive size but it was either 300 or 500 Mb. We bought a used IBM model for
$400 or $500 a year or so ago.
Good luck.

SpeakOUT -Role Playing Game with Voice Recognition

SpeakOUT is an exciting game for ESL students. It uses voice recognition, so
it is truly a learning tool. Students must speak to play. But, because it's
a game, they don't realize that they're learning! Excellent for improving
pronounciation.(full version-shareware)

Although the G3 and G4 Macs have the PlainTalk microphone input jack to provide power to the PlainTalk microphones, ordinary line-level devices (like the audio output of a CD player) will work fine using stereo mini-jack connectors. I routinely use my Blue and White G3 to capture audio from cassette and LP sources by this method, using a Radio Shack cable with RCA plugs on one end and a stereo mini-jack on the other.

While non-powered microphones need such devices, line-level audio outputs do not.

Hope this helps.

Subject: ColorSync Profiles....

I do web site and graphic design. Through installation of all the major
graphic design applications and various hardware, I have over 500
ColorSync profiles installed.

I want to try and clean this up (liberally), retaining any that I think
I may even remotely need, but remove the ones I "know" I will NEVER use.
The problem is that the profiles have such archaic names.

Does anyone know where I can find a list (even an incomplete list) that
defines these profiles? I searched Apple's site, but could not find this
information. (I now know everything else about ColorSync, but I still
don't know what color space each profile describes!) : -D

I would appreciate ANY LEAD that can help me learn the identities of all
(or some) of my profiles.

Thank you!

Absolutely. Eudora is able to filter outgoing mail. For example, I have
mail to my friends placed automatically in their own boxes, so that after
it's sent it gets filed away. You can even set it so that it opens their
mailbox when you get a new message from them, but not when you send a
message to them. And you can set it to filter manually as well, so that you
can file away all of the Outbox messages you haven't filed yet, in one fell
swoop!
Check it out at <http://www.qualcomm.com>. There is a free "Light"
edition, and you can also get the full-featured version for free if you
don't mind seeing ads. The full-featured version is also available without
ads, at a relatively small cost.

Eudora does it. Create a filter, tell it to act on mail sent to Mr.
Ed, tell it to transfer to Mr. Ed's mailbox, and tell it to act only
on outgoing mail.

Eudora has filters that can work with both incoming and outgoing mail
which can effectively do what Michael wants.

Well, in Eudora 4.3 (and probably earlier versions too) you can set
up a filter on outgoing mail to copy messages with particular 'To'
headers to the appropriate mailbox. Is that what you mean?

Eudora does this.

<http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/tutorials/mac_filters.html>

You can configure a filter to act on incoming messages, outgoing
messages, when invoked manually, or any combination of those.
