r Officials felt that through practical measures the problems of the CSCE Parliamentary Assembly missions, raised by the CSCE Parliamentary Assembly through its international secretariat, could be solved under the Rome Council Decision (CSCE/4-C/Dec.2). The Committee of Senior Officials was of the opinion that, without prejudice to the status of the CSCE Parliamentary Assembly, missions of the CSCE Parliamentary Assembly, established by co-operation between the President of the CSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the Chairman- in-Office of the CSCE, should be considered as missions under the auspices of the CSCE, in accordance with the provisions of the Rome Council Decision. With regard to the meetings of the CSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the Committee of Senior Officials encouraged participating States hosting such meetings to provide appropriate privileges and immunities. 6. Chairman's statement: In connection with agenda item 6(d) the Chairman made the following statement: "With reference to paragraph 2 of the text of decision (d) above, it is understood that the Missions of the CSCE Parliamentary Assembly are meant to include also the monitoring and observing of elections. 7. Next meeting: Friday, 4 March 1994, at 10 a.m., in the Plenary hall Chair: Italy 25-CSO/Journal No. 2 Annex SITUATION IN THE REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA The Committee of Senior Officials reviewed the situation in the Republic of Georgia and considered specific steps to implement the decision of the Rome Council Meeting to intensify the efforts of the CSCE to stabilize the situation in the country. The Committee of Senior Officials responded, in particular, to the appeal by the Minister for
