Slovenian railways class 342 electric locomotive leading an InterCity train and stopping soon at Pragersko.
It is a BoBo type locomotive from the year 1968, a close relative of the Swedish Rc locomotives. Some of these machines have already
been sold to FNM and FER in Italy and in 2015 there were 8 of these machines left out of an original number of 40 machines. The
machine works only with 3 kV DC and its top speed is 120 km/h.

The same class 342 locomotive with its InterCity train approaching Pragersko station. Note that only the 3 first
coaches of the train are Slovenian and the rest are Austrian ÖBB coaches. Austrian coaches and locomotives operate quite a lot in Slovenia.

Another class 342 locomotive heading a EuroCity train is approaching Pragersko station,
this time coming from the direction of the capital, Ljubljana. The train consisted of Hungarian MAV and Slovenian SZ
coaches and here at Pragersko its electric class 342 locomotive was changed to a class 664 "Reagan" diesel, which took
the train further over the Hungarian border.

Same train as in the picture above, but now it is just getting a huge class 664 diesel locomotive.
The line towards the Hungarian border is unelectrified. Note the Hungarian MAV-START coaches. This was a Ljubljana-Budapest
international EuroCity train.

The Slovenian Railways class 363 looks familiar for anyone who has ever been in the Netherlands
or France. Indeed these machines were built by Alsthom in France in 1975-77. Total number produced was 39. It's a 125 km/h fast
3 kV DC system locomotive with a modest power rating of only 2970 kW. Its nickname is "Brižita" - referring to Brigitte
Bardot and her big breasts. Slovenians use their Brižitas still quite a lot, especially with cargo trains.

Another class 363 machine, here pulling an empty car transportation train. The locomotives are almost
the same as their counterparts at SNCF in France, but not quite.

The same class 363 machine as above, just passing Celje station. It's a remarkably long
machine, looks big, although is relatively weak by today's standards.

Another class 363 machine, but here in the year 2007 still in its original mustard yellow
livery. Today all except one of these locomotives are red.

Another mustard yellow class 363 locomotive passing here the Logatec station.

Some of the class 363 machines such as this no. 035 seen here hauling a heavy oil train past
the Logatec station were already red even in 2007.

Slovenian railways class 310 Fiat Pendolino, which in Slovenia is called ICS. They were taken in service year 2000.
They have 30 seats in 1st class and 134 seats in 2nd class. Top speed is 200 km/h.
Picture at Celje station 2.7.2015 by Ilkka Siissalo.
In most other countries long distance Pendolino tilting trains are at least seven coaches long,
but the Slovenian InterCity Slovenia ICS is only three. But Slovenia is a small country and also other regular express
trains are shorter than in most other EU countries. The SŽ series 310 was made by Fiat Ferroviaria in the year 2000.
There are three three car sets in the country (says Wikipedia, but this one has no.003 at one end and no.004 at the
other !!). Each train can take 30 passengers in first class and 134 passengers in second class. Top speed is 200 km/h,
but in normal operation 170 km/h is not exceeded. The train runs only on 3kV DC.

This end of the train says it is class 310 Pendolino no. 004, the other end says it's no.003.
That's interesting, since Wikipedia claims that Slovenian railways should only have three of these trains.

Slovenian railways class 541 Taurus 3, a multiple electric system machine.
Picture at Lesce Bled station 9.7.2007 by Ilkka Siissalo.
Another view of the same class 541 Taurus 3 as in the picture above. This is the exact same
locomotive which in neighbouring Austria is called Baureihe (class) 1216, a third generation Siemens Taurus.

A regional train to Maribor, a Siemens Desiro three coach electric multiple unit of the class 312 is approaching Pragersko station. And as usual, the nice and modern poor train is totally spoiled by covering it in graffiti shit. Photo from Pragersko 2.7.2015 by Ilkka Siissalo.
Same train as above. Maintenance crews have only bothered to scrape the shitty paint smudge away from windows and the places with serial numbers. Awful. Photo from Pragersko 2.7.2015 by Ilkka Siissalo.
German DB Br642 Desiros consist of two coaches. In Slovenia the class 312 Desiros are two or three
coaches long and only the middle one has a low-floor section. Slovenian railways have 10 two coach Desiros and 20
three coach versions and whereas the German Desiros are diesels, these are electric multiple units.

Another three coach long electric Siemens Desiro - equally dirty with graffiti smudge - approaches
Pragersko station from the direction of Maribor and heading down south towards Dobova by the Croatian border.

The train is beautiful. But the graffiti shit - OMG !

A two coaches long Siemens Desiro class 312 regional train stopping at the Logatec station. In those
days the graffiti problem was not yet as bad as later on.

A two coach Slovenian Desiro electric multiple unit, here just barely on the Italian side of the Slovenian-Italian
border. This is how the typical Slovenian trains look like now - all covered with ugly smudge.

Quite many Austrian trains of both the Austrian ste railways ÖBB as well as from several private
operators run in Slovenia and through Slovenia. Here an Austrian state railways ÖBB 3. generation Siemens Taurus locomotive,
Baureihe (class) 1216 has stopped to wait for another train coming from the opposite direction. This Taurus was hauling
a full load of new cars probably to some of the Mediterranean ports. The Br 1216 Taurus 3 is a four electric system
machine and ÖBB uses them more abroad than in their native country. Mostly these machines are to be seen in Italy,
Slovenia, Hungary and the Czech republic.

A second car transportation train with a similar ÖBB Br1216 Taurus appeared very soon after
the first one.
