NORDUNET Engineering and Technical Forum Network Management working group Chairman: Harri Salminen Mailing list: netf-netman@nic.nordu.net Subscriptions to: netf-netman-request@nic.nordu.net Description: The current goal of this group is to define a set of requirements for use in the existing heterogenous multiprotocol and multiorganisation environment. These requirements would be used to evaluate existing products, and if they don't meet all of the requirements, the group could cooperate with the developers to improve their products, integrate several different products or co-operate with other parties in developing new standards for network management. In parallell the group should explore how to improve the overall use of Network Management Systems by different co-operating parties to better support the interconnected networking services. This includes solving problems related to multiple different operators and engineers using different tools and protocols in overlapping and distributed management domains in parallel.
