Well, I would check out Mozilla 0.6+ and install the (separate) security / 
crypto library that provides the missing functionality.

Most unix mailers follow the pgp standard instead of mime, but I found this

Can't pass a judgement on it though....

Check out mutt or kmail for the best of breed on terminal/GUI mailers on 
linux, but they support pgp only.
