The following loggings were made at the CANAVDX 92 DXpedition at Canaveral
National Seashore, Florida, on 27-28 November 1992.  Any help in resolving the
UNIDs would be appreciated.  Also, if anyone has mailing addresses for the
logged LOWFERs, please post or email them so we can QSL them.  Thanks.



                            LOGGINGS

175.4     USA  KRY (LOWFER), Chardon, Ohio, 0957, CW, CQ marker
          with "qsa to ..." and gave address, which was of course
          unreadable due to very poor signal.  Took 20 minutes to
          pick out the callsign.  (DC)
188.47    USA  9HDQ (LOWFER), Daleville, Indiana, 0902, continuous
          callsign on CW mode, poor level. (DC)
188.91    USA  WI (LOWFER), Owings, Maryland, 0716+, first and
          strongest of the LOWFERs heard this night, CW, "vvv de wi
          wi wi wi wi ..."   Poor, but whaddaya expect for 1 watt?

189.30    USA  TH (LOWFER), Colts Neck, New Jersey, 0928, CW,
          continuous callsign, extremely poor, then faded out
          completely.  (DC)
189.50    USA  ABC (LOWFER), Hilton Head Island, South Carolina,
          0922, CW callsign + long dash, very poor.  (DC)
252       EIRE  Atlantic 252, 0257, "Walking on Broken Glass" to
          0301, then into "Baby, Baby" by Amy Grant, 0304 M deejay
          ID, contest info and brief call-in.  Poor level.  (DC)
289       UNID  CB (Marine NDB), 0443, 400 Hz USB keying, fair
          level.  Location unknown.  (DC)
514a      UNID  XKQ (NDB), 0244, poor level.  Readable on LSB only,
          so maybe actually 512.  Location unknown.  (DC)
515       USA  ONH (NDB), Jefferson City, Missouri, 0240, poor.

518       UNID  GCT (NDB), 2244, fair level.  (DC)
518       UNID  IQS (NDB), 0700, poor level.  Location unknown.

521       USA  GM (NDB), Greenville, South Carolina, 2208, fair
          level.  (DC)
521       UNID  TVX (NDB), 2208, fair level mixed w/ GM.  Stronger
          and dominating channel later.  (DC)
524       USA  HEH (NDB), Newark, Ohio, 2152, poor/fair through 526
          QRM.  (DC)
524       USA  AJG (NDB), Mt. Carmel, Illinois, 2159, poor through
          co-channel.  (DC)
524       USA  UOC (NDB), Iowa City, Iowa, poor/fair.  (DC)
526       BAHAMAS (ALLEGEDLY)  ZLS (NDB), 2150, xlnt.  Anyone ever
          determine the exact location of this one, or was it
          assumed to be Bahamas because of the call sign?  DSB

526       UNID  CYV (NDB), 2150, fair level under ZLS.  This one
          has been around for years but haven't seen an actual site
          listing for it anywhere.  Once I heard it in the daytime
          while driving west of Gainesville, FL, so it can't be too
          far away.  Any ideas?  DSB keyed.  (DC)
530       USA  Palm Beach Intl Airport TIS, Florida, 2145, f/g
          level co-channel CIAO with usual W info cart.  (DC)
530       CANADA  CIAO, London, Ontario, 2145, live remote bcast at
          BMW dealer w/ EG & IT (or wierd accent SP) babbling,
          vocal mx, getting stronger and heard again at 2202
          completely overriding the TIS w/ IT nx.  CH pxing noted
          in the wee morning hours.  (DC)
540.32    UNID LAm  0455-0505, SP speaker here through WGTO
          splatter.  Very weak.  (DC)
830       ST. KITTS  Radio Paradise, 2348 US EG preacher on the
          importance of Word of God.  Over/under HIJB ritmos and

1030      USA  KTWO, Casper, Wyoming, 0830 M ID as "K-2" also
          mentioning 650 and 1540 KHz.  Fair level at peaks through
          QRM.  (DC)
1031.02   UNID LAm  0313 EZL W vocal, SP M.  (TK)
1500      COLOMBIA  Radio 1500, 0452 SP M ID & talk, upbeat LAm pop
          mx through the Venezuelan.  (RS)
1500      VENEZUELA  Radio 2000, 0502 SP ID, mostly nonstop
          baladas.  (RS)
1540      BAHAMAS  ZNS, active once again, heard throughout evening
          co-ch Sagua and CHIN.  (RS)
1540      CANADA  CHIN, Toronto, heard off and on throughout night,
          Argy-accented SP heard earlier in the evening.  (RS, DC)
1559.87   USA  WCKN (?), 2355 tent ID mentioning several locations
          including possible West Plains, Alabama, off-nominal
          frequency.  USA network programming, including news 0000. 
          Two Alabama stations listed, WAGC, Center, AL and WRDJ at
          Daleville.  Fair at peaks.  (DC, RS)
1643.49   USA  ABC (MEDFER), Hilton Head Island, South Carolina,
          1022-1130.  This one run by the same person as the 189.5
          LOWFER (Todd Roberts, Box 21413, Hilton Head, SC 29925). 
          Continuous callsign on CW, weak signal but completely in
          the clear and easily readable, definitely not bad for 100
          milliwatts!  MUCH stronger than 189.5.  (DC)  1105+ (TK)
1720H     DOMINICAN REPUBLIC  Radio Clarin, Santo Domingo, 2 x 860,
          0249, quick M ID & TC through data link squawking.  (DC)
1789.7H   HAITI  Radio Artibonite, throughout early local evening,
          fair sig at times with some kompa mx, some rlg pxing. 
          Supposedly 2 x 895, but haven't heard it on the
          fundamental frequency in years despite the fact that it
          was formerly quite strong there.  (DC)
2614U     GERMANY  DAN Norddeich Radio, 0535-0545, EG M nav
          warnings to 0540, switched to GM.  Poor level but in
          clear.  (DC)
2934.1    UNID  MPG (NDBish style beacon), 0819, keyed carrier w/
          tone modulation (1 KHz) (no continuous base carrier),
          fair/good level.  Where and why here? (DC)
3316.0    SIERRA LEONE  SLBS, 2216+, children's highlife mx,
          vernacular W dj, very good.  Carrier only at 2224
          recheck. (TK)
4625      ICELAND?  Foghorn, 0050 not blowing horn tonight, only
          open carrier.  Fair carrier level, anyway.  (DC)
4740      TURKMENISTAN  Radio Yunost' via Ashkabad, 0045 western
          rock mx, RS W anncr.  Poor level. (DC)  UNID service,
          0227+, RS M&W talk, EZL piano fills on AM wakeup px,

5440      XINJIANG  Urumchi, 0055, weak, listed Kazakh service,
          operatic vocals, also hints of it on //4970.  (DC)
6010NF    CUBA  Radio Habana Cuba, 0042+, EG w/ Langston Wright on
          the "Cuba Caravan" (" ...sending humanitarian aid [this
          way] is like urinating in a lake...").  Great quote.

          mx, SP W but no clear ID.  Definitely not Brazil.  Clear,

          good.  (TK)
9680.18   UNID  Call to prayer (Islamic) 0253 across hour.  Very
          good.  (TK)
