Welcome to the ptolemy.berkeley.edu archive.  

This archive contains the current version of Ptolemy and as well as the
GNU tools that were used to build Ptolemy.

The file "RELEASE_NOTES_0.4.1" details what is new and what has changed
since the 0.4 release.

The directory "ptolemy" contains the ptolemy source code, binaries, and
documentation.  It also contains ptolemy related files such as an 
archive of the ptolemy mailing list.  Instructions on how to download
and set up ptolemy on your system are located in the "README" file in
the "ptolemy" directory.

The directory "gnu" contains the gnu programs that were used to build
ptolemy.  If you plan to rebuild ptolemy, you may save yourself some
time by using this particular set of GNU tools rather than the set that 
may be installed on your system.

We recommend against using this site for obtaining the Gnu tools;
it will not contain the latest versions, as a rule.
