My enhancement to Tim Thompson's dev/midi driver to support VP/ix is available by anonymous ftp on ucsd.edu 128.54.16.1.  Get the file midi.vpix.shar from the /midi/software/unix directory.   I've successfully used this driver with Cakewalk 4.0 (NOT 3.0!), Band-in-a-Box, Drummer, Cadenza and Music Printer Plus.  I am having a non MIDI related problem with MPP (4.0 won't save to my hard disk, weird.) but the driver seems to work just fine. I have no idea what other DOS MIDI programs this driver will o



t work with.

If you don't have ftp access and are interested in the driver I will be happy to email it to you.
